Turn off touchpad

Often on a laptop you can be typing and find that your insertion point has moved to a place in the text that you did not want it to be in, creating a problem that you have to go in and correct.

The best solution is to set your system to disable the touchpad while you are typing.

To do this:

Go to the menu and select preferences. Then open "mouse and touchpad" section.

Select the touchpad tab and move the slider to the "On" position to "Disable touchpad while typing".

If, for some reason this does not work properly on your system, there are a couple of alternative methods available. you can check them out here: Disable touchpad while typing
